New Breakthrough Can Lower Cost of Printed Electronics

Researchers have discovered that silver nanowires have a 4,000-times higher conductivity than the silver nanoparticles commonly used in printed electronics. Because nanowires don't need to be melted together to be conductive, printed electronics could soon be created on cheaper materials, increasing their potential applications.

Westworld and AI: Experts Discuss the Future of Intelligent Machines

HBO's new series "Westworld" has a lot of us thinking about just how humanlike AI and robotics will become. The reality is—we're nowhere near the spectacular sophistication depicted in film and fiction. But the technology is quickly evolving, and machine learning algorithms are already evolving toward the kind of "generative code" that may one day produce truly self-aware AI.
