Expert Warning: Current Conservation Efforts Won’t Save Tropical Forests

After studying 200,000 trees in 360 rainforest areas, researchers concluded there is no clear correlation between the number of tree species in a forest and its carbon-storage capacity. If we only protect forests with high carbon stocks in our conservations policies, we could leave some of the most biodiverse areas vulnerable to deforestation and other threats.
