The system is already being tested in places like Canada and Finland, and if successful, it could offset the widespread unemployment expected by increased automation.

Research out of the University of Surrey has found battery alternative material, or supercapacitor, that is 1,000 - 10,000 times more powerful than traditional batteries. These supercapacitors could provide the boost electric vehicles need to break into the mainstream since they will be able to perform at lengths comparable to gas powered cars.
